Study: Americans Think Al Jazeera English is Unbiased… When It Has a CNN Logo Placed On It - TVNewser

This is not good for competition in the U.S. news market. The more diversity we have, the better off we are as a nation. We are relegated to a hard right news channel (FOX), and two slightly left of center news channels (CNN and MSNBC). Adding Al Jazeera to the mix would certainly add an important viewpoint to the news we receive in America - the perspective of those who don't live here. I'm sure it would provoke discussion of real issues - and not the focus on shock news like stories on weird or heinous crimes, missing persons, etc. Hillary Clinton recently commented on this subject, pointing out that our cable news channels focus little on real news, while Al Jazeera was doing a much better job of reporting events. I couldn't agree more.
